DETROIT (Feb. 8, 2:15 p.m. ET) – Engineered foams maker JSP has formed a joint venture with Qycell Corp. to make cross-linked sheet foams using a proprietary technology.
The process makes extruded sheet foam without the use of complex chemistry and processing. Detroit-based JSP will provide thin sheet polyethylene foams in continuous roll stock for use in automotive, pressure sensitive tape, laminate and other specialty applications.
The company is considering making additional products, including cross-linked polypropylene sheet foam and new oxygen barriers for use in food processing.
Qycell is a cross-linked foam manufacturer based in Ontario, Calif. |
