Extruder manufacturer KraussMaffei Berstorff is expanding its market position in the profile sector.
“In the wake of a stagnating market situation we are happy to see the revival of the profile market in which have a very good position, thanks to our broad product line,” said Peter Oswald, head of product management at KrauffMaffei Berstorff in Munich. “We are noting an improved project situation both in the established markets in Central and Eastern Europe, but also from the up-and-coming markets such as South America and the Near and Middle East.”
Oswald said there is higher demand for complete systems. KM Berstorff provides individual extruders and complete systems for extruding PVC windows and polyolefins for technical profiles.
Customers are interested in natural fiber reinforcements, and for coextrusion, which enables profile makers to use recycled materials and fillers in a core layer, to reduce material cost.
